Webflow Google Analytics 4 Integration That Counts Every Lead Your Forms Bring In

Your Webflow forms bring in leads, yet GA4 can't tell you where they came from. Foursets sets up the Webflow Google Analytics 4 integration with one Google tag, a named event on each lead form, and conversions you can trace to the page and campaign behind them. At your next pipeline review, you can show the source of your leads.

Trusted by 50+ B2B marketing teams across 25+ countries.

GA4 on Webflow

GA4 on Webflow

GA4 on Webflow

WHO WE ARE

Foursets is a Webflow agency that has designed and built B2B websites since 2021, and Webflow lists us as a Premium Partner. Designers, developers, and SEO specialists work on one senior in-house team, so the people who build your site also set up its tracking.

The person who installed GA4 has left, your team can't defend the lead sources in the report, and the next review is already on the calendar. We connect Webflow and Google Analytics so each lead form reports as a conversion, with its source attached.

Google Analytics for Webflow Sites Whose Reports Can't Name a Lead Source

What Google Analytics 4 is

GA4 is Google's web analytics service and the current version of Google Analytics. Standard Universal Analytics properties stopped processing data on July 1, 2023, and since February 2023 Webflow's integration has accepted only GA4 measurement IDs.

What GA4 tells you about a Webflow site

GA4 shows your traffic sources, page views, user behavior on each Webflow page, and which visits end in a conversion. On a Webflow Ecommerce store, Webflow's native Google Analytics integration in Site settings does part of the work. It sends product views, carts, and purchases to GA4 once ecommerce tracking is enabled. Webflow's help center documents no such event for a form submission, so your lead forms need events of their own.

PROBLEMS > SOLUTION

Common Problems, Uncommon GA4 Tracking Solutions

Challenge

We can't say which page or campaign brought in last month's leads, so the budget conversation runs on guesses.

The Google tag loads from Site settings, the Google site tools app, and head code an old agency left behind, and no one knows which install is live.

Our Webflow forms work and the leads reach our inbox, yet GA4 shows zero lead conversions.

Ad blockers keep part of our visitors' data from reaching GA4, and the gaps show up in the monthly numbers.

Each new form or tracked button waits in a developer's queue, and the campaign launches without it.

Our Solution

We tie each lead form to a GA4 event and keep the UTM parameters with each submission. Your reports then show leads by source, campaign, and landing page.

We find each place the tag loads and keep one. Webflow's help center recommends one place for the Google tag to avoid duplicate tracking scripts.

For conversion tracking, we send each form submission to GA4 as a named event and mark the lead forms as key events, so the conversions appear in your reports.

Where your tag sits in the Google tag field in Site settings, we confirm the Google tag gateway shows as Active. With the gateway active, Webflow runs the tag through its own CDN to reduce the impact of ad blockers.

The team that set up your events stays on your account and adds new ones as the site changes, through a retainer or an hourly package.

WEBFLOW EXPERT & PARTNER

Webflow experts, Premium Partners, and template authors, all in one team

Foursets holds three Webflow credentials. We have been certified Webflow experts since 2019, we are official Webflow template authors, and we hold Webflow's Premium partner tier, the highest level in its partner program outside of Enterprise.

Vetted Webflow expertise

Webflow independently reviewed our work and certified that it meets Webflow's standards.

Priority support

When a Webflow setting behaves differently from its help article, we take the question straight to Webflow's partner team.

Platform depth

From CMS architecture to Webflow Enterprise, we work at each layer of Webflow, including the custom code and forms a GA4 setup runs on.

Adding Google Analytics to Webflow With One Tag Your Team Can Find

You can add Google Analytics to Webflow in four ways, and each one fits a different site and team.

1. The Google site tools for Webflow app

The Google site tools app is Webflow's own connector for Google. It lets you connect Google Analytics to Webflow project sites one at a time or several at once, along with Tag Manager and Search Console, and it shows site traffic and your most-visited pages inside Webflow. Only users with the Designer or Marketer role can install it. Once the app is connected, Webflow's help tells you to remove the Site settings integration to avoid inflating site load times.

2. The Google tag field in Site settings

Webflow's native integration takes a tag ID that starts with G-, GT-, AW-, or GTM-, and it needs no paid Webflow plan. Google points to it for sites that only need the Google tag or Tag Manager. It's also the route that gets the Google tag gateway. Since September 2026, Webflow runs the tag through its own CDN to reduce the impact of ad blockers. If your tag already sits here, a republish switches the gateway on. It works on Webflow hosting only.

3. Google Tag Manager

Tag Manager holds your GA4 tag, your Google Ads and other ad tags, and their triggers in one GTM container, so a new event is a change in Tag Manager with no edit to the Webflow site. Its GTM- ID can go into the same Google tag field. You can also paste the two container snippets into the site's custom code, which needs a paid site or Workspace plan. That route gets no gateway, because Google says the gateway "is not currently compatible with custom code implementations".

4. Custom events and the API

Form submissions, button clicks, and server-side events reach GA4 through custom code, the Measurement Protocol, and Webflow webhooks. This route fits a site that counts a lead at the moment the CRM receives it. Webflow's integration page says this path "requires developer resources". Webflow support doesn't help with custom code, so whoever writes it maintains it.

Which one should you pick? A site that needs GA4 alone does well with the Google tag field, and a site that runs several tags puts Tag Manager into that same field. Keep the Google tag in one place either way.

Our Services

A Webflow GA4 Setup That Shows Which Form Brought Each Lead

The parts below let GA4 name the form and the source behind your leads.

(1/6)

Tag audit and one install

We check Site settings, the Google site tools app, and the head code for the Google tag, then keep one install. Your pages drop the duplicate scripts. You read one set of numbers.

(2/6)

GA4 property and data streams

We set up a new GA4 property or clean up the one you have. Test traffic from your .webflow.io staging domain is kept out of the reports, so they show only your live site's traffic.

(3/6)

Events on lead forms and key buttons

Each lead form submission and each button that matters to you reaches GA4 under an event name your team can read. Now you know which demo request came from the pricing page.

(4/6)

Conversions and UTM capture

Your lead forms become key events in GA4, and the UTM parameters stay with each submission. If your site already runs Google Tag Manager, the events live in that one container.

(5/6)

Google tag gateway check

Where your install route supports the gateway, we check that it shows as Active in the Google tag's admin settings. If it reads Incomplete, we look for the tag running on more than one domain.

(6/6)

Ecommerce events

On a Webflow Ecommerce store connected through the Google tag field in Site settings, we enable ecommerce tracking, so the store events Webflow sends arrive in your reports next to the lead forms.

Your existing stack stays intact

Webflow doesn't replace your tools. It connects to them. We wire every new site to the platforms your team already runs, so your data flows cleanly from day one and nothing breaks at launch.

Advantages

Why Choose Foursets for Your Google Analytics Setup

We replaced the standard agency "trust me, bro" model with radical transparency and zero hidden risks.

We've set up GA4 on a B2B Webflow site before

For Dune Security, we set up GA4 and Google Tag Manager with event tracking on the Webflow site, added UTM tracking on every form, and built a Looker Studio dashboard.

One team builds the page and its tracking

The team that changes a page also updates its events, in the same request. A new form reaches your site together with the event that counts its submissions in GA4.

The install route fits your site

We choose the route after we've seen your current tags, your Webflow plan, and your hosting. You approve the choice before we touch the live site.

Retainer requests go live in 48 hours on average

On a retainer, you drop a request in Slack or ClickUp, and it reaches a live URL in 48 hours on average.

The same people stay on your account

Each pod of 5 to 8 people owns its own accounts, so the team that mapped your events is the team that changes them next quarter.

You watch the setup in Slack and ClickUp

From kickoff, you share a Slack channel and a ClickUp board with our team. Before an event goes live, we test it on your .webflow.io staging domain.

PROCESS

From the First Call to Leads Showing Up in GA4 in Five Days

Five working days for a typical setup, from the discovery call to GA4 tested and running on your live site.

DAY 1

Discovery call with Nick

You speak with Nick, our founder. He asks which forms bring in your leads, where the tag is installed today, and what your next review has to show.

DAY 2

Audit of the tags on your site, fixed quote

We list each place the Google tag loads, the forms that send no event, and the GA4 settings behind them. You get a fixed quote the same day.

DAY 3

Kickoff and the event plan

Your project gets a shared Slack channel and a ClickUp board. You approve the list of events and conversions before we build them.

DAY 4

Build

We set up the tag, the events on your lead forms and buttons, and the key events in GA4. Progress lands in Slack as each piece goes in.

DAY 5

Test, go live, check Realtime

We publish to your .webflow.io staging domain and test each event with Google Tag Assistant. Then the site goes live, and we watch the events arrive in GA4 Realtime. The standard reports fill in a day or so later, as Webflow's help center notes.

DAY 6+

Post-launch continuity

You stay in the same Slack channel. New forms, campaigns, and tracking fixes go through a retainer or an hourly package.

INDUSTRIES

B2B companies we know inside out

The leads a B2B company has to count depend on what it sells and who buys it.
By industry:
Conferences
Event teams track registration clicks and sponsor inquiries by the campaign that sent each visitor.
Construction
Construction tech companies with long sales cycles keep the source of each demo request from the first visit.
Cybersecurity
Security buyers check how a site handles their data, so the tag setup stays lean and each script on the page has a reason to be there.
E-Commerce
Webflow Ecommerce stores with the Google tag field set up in Site settings get product views, carts, and purchases in GA4 next to their B2B lead forms.
Fintech
Regulated companies keep their tracking scripts in one place, so the compliance team can see what loads on each page.
Healthcare
Health tech companies see which pages and campaigns bring in demo requests from enterprise buyers.
Tech Companies
Technical buyers sometimes inspect a site's tags themselves, so the setup keeps one install and a named event for each tracked action.
Venture Capital
Fund websites track which pages bring in founder applications and deal-flow forms.

FAQ

Frequently Asked (and Honestly Answered) Questions

Does Webflow have built-in analytics?

Yes, as a paid add-on called Webflow Analyze. It works without cookies and shows up to 90 days of data at once. GA4 reports the key events your lead forms send, once they're set up. Webflow says discrepancies between analytics tools are expected, so agree on one tool as the number your team reports.
